🍴 Mussels are a superfood full of nutrients and, in addition, a delicious delicacy within reach of all budgets. They are very easy to clean, quick to cook and there are a wide variety of recipes that we can prepare with them. Therefore, they are a great resource for our most special dinners or meals.

How do you know when is the ideal season to take advantage of all the sea flavor of mussels? A very easy trick to remember when we should buy mussels since they are in their optimal state is to think about the months that contain the "R's" such as December or... April! Today we bring you this delicious recipe so you can learn how to prepare this sea and mountain dish.

INGREDIENTS:

Mussels, water, a bay leaf, EVOO

Sauce: blue cheese, mussel cooking water, salt

STEPS:

Ideal recipe for those summer meals and for cheese lovers that will make us lick our fingers while impressing our guests.

– Step 1: The first thing we have to do is clean the mussels . How do you do this? Well, very simple: we will see that some hairs come out from the inside of the mussel, popularly known as 'the beards'. Well, simply what we have to do is pull the beard to the side and tear them off. This way they will be clean and without dirt.
– Step 2: To cook the mussels we will place them in a pot with a little water, 1 bay leaf and a drop of virgin olive oil. Eye! You should not cover them in water because what we want to do is steam them. Once the water is boiling, add the mussels and cover the pot. It will only take a few minutes to cook until we see them open.
– Step 3: For the blue cheese sauce , put a little cream in a saucepan, heat it, add the blue cheese and a little water from cooking the mussels and blend. We add some salt to taste and that's it.
– Step 4: To finish, we pour the blue cheese sauce into a wide frying pan, add the mussels already cooked with the shell and let them cook for a few minutes.

All we have to do is serve them on a platter, pick them up with our hands and put them in our mouths. I hope you enjoy them!
